I need faith.

Well, we had a wonderful date night on Friday. The married student assosiation with the church threw a party for the chinease new year (yeah non-orientals celebrating a the chinese new year, weird I know) and after the good food they had a martial arts demonstration which invloved some volunteers from the audience. I was in such a good mood to show off that I volunteered. At first they had us doing some kicks, jabs, upper cuts nothing too strenuous. Later however, they brought out the bricks to break. One of their more advanced students came out and after four tries broke through the brick. Then they asked if any of the volunteers wanted to attempt it. One of the volunteers who was was too serious about the entire demonstration decided to volunteer. His first attempt resulted in failure, and a crowd going, "ewww...." He didn't give up though, he wacked his hand against the brick three more times and just kept thinking in my mind, "Don't do it again." So after some coaching from our new sensei, he psyched himself up again and broke through the brick! I was well astonished. They then asked for another volunteer. I thought, "If this guy can do it, I can do it." So got up there and this video explains the rest. I only tried once. I knew I'd never have more confidence than the first shot I gave. So another epiphany came to me, "If it only takes faith like unto a mustard seed to move a mountain and I can't even break a measly little brick, I need more faith... and some ice for my hand."
