A week in Denver

This past week I had the chance to spend 5 days with my sister in Elizabeth, Colorado. Funny I know. She lives about an hour out of Denver so I was able to fly in and meet her at the airport. James did pretty well on the flight considering that he was sick the week before and teething. He was pretty fussy waiting for the plane to take off and the nice woman next to us let James play with all sorts of stuff from her purse. As soon as the plane started to take off James was asleep still holding her lotion bottle. Although most of the week was spent chatting away and hanging out with the kids we were still able to slip away and have some fun on our own including: going shopping at the mall, finding some pants that actually stay on me(woo hoo), buying a new fall jacket (I bought my last one in 9th grade, it was time for a new one), getting my eyebrows waxed for the first time, introducing my sister to steamers for the first time, and going into Denver to see Brown Palace and eat at the Cheesecake Factory. We also spent time putting up rock around my sister's fireplace, and spending time with her 5 kids. James loved it. I think James probably enjoyed just having so much attention and following my 3 year old niece Jeanette around all day while the others were at school. The view of Brown's Palace. It may not be amazing from the outside but it is beautiful in the inside. James had no lack of attention while we were visiting. Jeanette love feeding him his dinner and Addie couldn't stop giving him kisses. During the day James would follow Jeanette around or vice versa, either way they both had a lot of fun. By the time we left on Friday, James was feeling much better after his tooth came in but was ready to be home. He was very happy to smile at everyone but didn't want anyone but Mom to hold him. He was very pleasant on the way home and didn't fuss at all. He slept half of the flight and wooed the flight attendants on the second half. When we arrived back at the SLC airport Aaron was there waiting for us. James immediately held out his arms and wanted only Dad, it was so cute.
