Chocolate Festival

Yesterday we had a chance to go to the Annual Chocolate Festival in Logan. We went three years ago and loved it however we have never made it back. Well we made it this year and it was worth it. Now for those of you who know that I am allergic to chocolate may wonder why I would go. Simply put, for Aaron. Not to say I don't enjoy it. I do take a few nibbles here and there of the samples that are a little less 'chocolaty' but as for the rest I love looking at all of the creations people make not to mention the live jazz music and the general atmosphere. James enjoyed it as well however he was a little annoyed that Aaron wasn't sharing with him. (What a mean dad!) He loved dancing to the jazz music and I could hardly keep a hold of him for all of his bouncing up and down. I didn't get any actual pictures of us trying the chocolate but I did get some pictures of some of our favorite entries. This is our favorite in the professional division. It was actually mostly a strawberry gelatin with a chocolate layer on bottom. Aaron even allowed my an entire bite of my own on this one! His competition although good just couldn't beat him. However I really enjoyed this one because it was on the cold marble which seemed to make it even better. This raspberry and chocolate combo was our vote for the amateur creation. I didn't try this one but Aaron raved about it. Everything else was pretty good but the most unique goes to the Bacon Chocolate Truffle. Yes you read right BACON! Aaron had to try this because well BACON! He said it just had a few crumbs of bacon in it and added and interesting spice at the end that was actually pretty good although not to beat the Raspberry. I keep thinking that I should enter with an all white chocolate entry next year so there is something I can eat. But it would have to be pretty amazing. Maybe I will become a white chocolateer this year... or maybe not.

You might want to reconsider the dark backgroung with the black type. It makes you blog really hard to read. :)

I wish we could have gone with you! That was so fun when we went! Although I haven't been able to go, I've kept up the tradition and starting hosting my own Chocolate Party. This year it'll be in AZ. Wish you could be there! Glad you guys went! :D
