Weekend Trip

This past weekend we made use of our Monday off and headed out to Vernal. Aaron had a doctor's appointment in Steamboat Springs on Saturday so we drove to Vernal on Friday and left the kids with Grandma and Grandpa for the morning, neither of them seemed to mind. We made sure to pack Saturday as full as we could get including driving to Steamboat and back, helping Grandpa build a shed, visiting the Dinosaur National Monument, and playing games with Aunt Joslin and Uncle Mike. We spent Sunday visiting family all day at church, and after. It was my Aunts birthday, and we stopped by to see my cousin's new house. James loved playing with with Alexis's kitchen, she would take orders, he would bake, and she would serve. They were a good team. We weren't quite ready to be done, so on Monday, Aaron and James helped on the shed again, we packed, stopped in Roosevelt for a job interview for Aaron, drove home, and Aaron went to work at 7:00 that night. James was so worn out from the trip and driving, he asked to go to bed a half hour after we got home. He was asleep by the time Dad got to work. I guess we just played too hard.

Helping Grandpa
I'm not sure why Aaron was pulling his Popeye face while at a Dinosaur Museum, I think he thought we were at a Marina maybe.
Visiting Dinosaur National Monument (We live only 5 minutes away so it is nothing new to me, especially since I worked there 4 summers, but we wanted to see the new visitor center) James loved it though. If you need something to do for a day go and see it. It is free until May when they start charging for the summer season.
Saving James from the scary dinosaur!
He really was afraid. Not of the wall mural but of the life size skeleton just to the left of the picture. He was not going to let Aaron go.
Madeline on the other hand was not afraid of the large dinosaur behind her. James would not take a picture with it. But he loved the rest of the visit. Especially playing with the toy dinosaurs in the gift shop.
Finishing off the day playing trains with "Kammy". James love both Kameron and his trains. I'm not sure which one he loves more though, it is a close tie.
Madeline was all worn out too. We really made the most of the weekend.

I want to visit the new vistor's center. It looks like so much fun! I wasn't aware that it's free until May. That's great! :) I hope Aaron gets the job. Does that mean you'll be moving back? You have such a cute little family!
