Winter Fun!

This December has been so much fun this year. James is so excited not only for Christmas but for all the winter fun. I am pretty sure he asks me at least 10 times a day if it is Christmas yet or something Christmas related i.e "When are we going to make Christmas cookies?" "When are we going to see Santa?" "When do we get to build a snow man?" Although it may have seemed like forever to him we did manage to get everything in.

We were lucky enough to have it snow and for the snow to stick around through Christmas. The kids had so much fun playing in it I can hardly get them back in the house when they go out to play even if they are frozen by the end.
As for some other Christmas activities the kids had a chance to see Santa at the ward Christmas breakfast and all of them were very glad to see him. James had Aaron help write Santa a Christmas letter so he could hand it to him in person and make sure he got it.

After the ward breakfast we had a busy day of going to pick a Christmas tree, making cookies for the Middleton Christmas Light Parade (they held a cookie contest before the parade and then serve the cookies with hot chocolate after for kids coming to see Santa, no I didn't win, but only because they had the drop off time wrong in the newspaper and I delivered them 10 minutes too late. This is still a bit of a sore spot for me, I really like baking contests especially when I spent 2 days making red velvet chocolate cheesecake cookies, I'll be sure to be the first one dropping off next year).

We also went to the light parade which the kids really enjoyed, I enjoyed that one of the local churches handed out cups of homemade chicken noodle soup to eat while we waited. It was amazing soup!
We did manage to eventually make sugar cookies and decorate them. The kids loved both making and decorating them but I think Madie mostly liked making a mess and James spend most of his time trying to clean her up.

Everyone in their Christmas attire. Merry Christmas everyone!
