I can't believe that James is 4 years old, we had a great time celebrating but this post is all about James at 4.
James is crazy little boy, he is all into batman and imagination. I spend most of my days being called bat girl and answering to batman, if he isn't playing batman, he is pretending to be Peep, from a PBS show, pretending to be 'Grandpa' where he feeds horses, make breakfast, and fixes tractors. His imagination is not lacking to say the least.
He loves playing trains, blocks, puzzles, jumping over the couch, running around the house and overall just being a boy.
James is all about the schedule. He goes to bed every night asking what we are do tomorrow. And not just a major event, but play by play of first we eat breakfast, and then get dressed, then play, "then what mom?" is a regular question around the house.
James is a wonderful big brother, he loves holding Titus and is great with Madie. If she is ever upset and crying he will start singing "You are My Sunshine" to her and get her to laugh. He can be very thoughtful and sweet and never fails to end the day with "Mom, I love you too."
He loves learning and knows his ABC's, shapes, numbers almost to 20, is starting to sound out words and write them, writes his name on everything. He is loves coloring but everything needs to be the right color and just right or he is very frustrated it is a bit of a love/hate relationship he is just too much of a perfectionist like his father.
We have a rotating neighborhood preschool with a few neighbors that we join once a week. James loves it and although a lot of it is for the social interaction he has also been learning a lot and it makes something to look forward to every week.
James has really gotten into telling stories and most of the conversations start with 'Soo remember when....' One of his favorites lately is telling anyone who will listen about mom going to the doctor and baby Titus 'popped' out and now he is here.
James can most definitely have his rough days where the smallest thing (me telling him it is 9 o'clock, Madie sitting on his blanket, a piece of paper got bent when he put it in his pocket, etc) can end in a total meltdown, but he can also have his days that we have so much fun together, he is incredibly helpful and thoughtful, and I almost a little sad when it is bed time, almost. We are so glad to have him in our family and for the fun and laughter he brings to our family.
