Water Fun

It seems like we haven't done a very good job of getting to play in the water this summer and have spent the month of August making up for it. We started the summer with an impromptu trip to Eagle Island (a sandbar along the Boise River) with some friends. We have been wanting to go all summer but it was closed for part of the summer. We had a great time playing Titus was all about the sand. I tried my best to keep it out of his mouth but he had sand in his diaper for the next three days...

Madie wasn't too keen on playing on the water at first but she eventually made her way down to the water and decided she liked it after all.
I could hardly keep up with James he had so much fun in the water, he is all about the sand and 'swimming
 in the water.
Titus eventually made his way down to the water as well. He loves it as much as James does I have a feeling that we have another water kid on our hands.

We also got to go to a ward swim party at the local swimming pool. James and Madie had  a blast but Madie did not like the idea of deep water, even the kiddy side where she could touch. She pretty much clung my neck the entire time and occasionally splashed her hands in the water. By the time we left she was feeling a little more comfortable but not much.
To finish the month up James had water party with his friends. We made huge water blob out of painter's plastic that we folded in half and sealed by using wax paper and ironing the sides together. It was a huge hit. James was super exited to 'try it out' before his friends showed up. James was pretending to be a penguin and slide across the blog.
Madie and Titus weren't too sure about the blog and preferred to stay on the edge of it for the first while.
Once his friends showed up they had a great time playing on the blob, the sprinkler, and kiddy pool. We had to take a break for Popsicles of  course and pretend to waddle like penguins for some reason...
After the first 30 minutes of running and diving on a few holes were bound to be made but I was pleasantly surprised at how well the water stayed in it. Madie had much more fun once it started leaking water and wasn't so blobish
It also made running a diving pretty fun with some awesome splashes as they dived in.
We had an awesome time with everyone and we were so glad we had a chance to see some many of our friends before the school year started up.
