Decisions, Stitches, and Change

Part 1: Decisions
Well I guess it is about time I get around to blogging about our latest adventure. At the beginning of August we recieved some news that sent our world into a whirlwind. Aaron was being laid off. There just wasn't enough work they said and August 15th would be his last day of work at American Geotechnics in Boise. In sent us into a another whirlwind of job applications, interviews, and a road trip to Utah. We were overwhelmingly blessed with responses from nearly every single company Aaron interviewed with. Instead of becoming a decision of just trying to find A job it turned into having to decide between many jobs and what job we really felt would be best in the long run for our family. It was probably a much harder decision to make than if we had only received one job offer and had to take it in order to have a job. In the end we decided to accept a job in Sandy, Ut. with AGEC. Aaron accepted the job offer on the 29th and had to start work on September 2nd. In complete chaos my mom, sister, and niece came up from Utah, Friday night and helped me start packing, cleaning, and staging our home to sell. The kids had a great time making forts out of cardboard boxes and playing at neighbor's homes

Mom even helped load the Motorcycle.
James thought he should ride his bike onto the trailer as well.

Aaron left Sunday morning for Utah with cribs, the dog, and his motorcycle. By Wednesday morning we had packed up the majority of our home, (leaving only the large furniture for staging), cleaned, staged, and we were ready to leave for Utah with 3 worn our kids, clothes, toys, and a new set of stitches.

Part 2: Stitches
That is right a midst the craziness of packing and moving Madie decided to add a little excitement in our lives by taking us on an insticare run Tuesday night.

We had gone out to dinner since we had pretty much cleaned out everything out of the fridge and packed up the entire kitchen. Just as we were getting ready to leave, Madie pushed herself back from the table while sitting in her highchair and fell straight back onto the cement floor. She came up with a bloody mouth and screaming. (Honestly we were lucky she didn't end up with a concussion as well). In the end she had bit her tongue and had a cut under her chin about 1 inch wide and 1/4 inch deep. At first it didn't look too bad until we saw her stretch her neck out and then you could see how deep it really was. We decided to stop at an urgent care that was on the way home and hope it wasn't too busy. Of course we all ended up going since we thought it wouldn't take too long and we were 30 minutes away from home on the other side of town.

We arrived at 7:45 and didn't leave until 10:00. Madie was being her typical busy body self in the waiting room trying to say 'hi' to everyone and give hugs which just ended up getting blood all over people :( And since it was past bedtime she was getting pretty tired and did not want to sit still. James and Regan did really well but Madie was all over the place. Eventually, some very nice lady had a tablet and asked if there was a show she wanted to watch off netflix. She had 'Signing Time' pulled up in no time flat and Madie was thrilled to sit on Grandma's lap and watch (Talk about being grateful for technology, and kind people, and tender mercies). Around 9:15 they called Madie back, agreed that she needed stitches, cleaned up the cut, and put some numbing cream on it. I was really nervous about how we were going to get the stitches in, she wouldn't even let us look at the cut without fighting and throwing a fit. 5 minutes of the numbing cream and Madie was sound asleep on my lap. The Dr. came in, they wrapped Madie up as a precaution in case she woke up, and continued to stitch her up with out her even cracking an eye open. It was amazing (talk about another blessing). We all finally made it home, very tired, and ready to get some sleep.

(On another cute note, Titus had been happily playing in the waiting room crawling around while we were in with Madie, he crawled over to my sister put hid hand on her foot laid his head down and fell asleep right there.) Talk about some tired kids. I am so grateful they just fell asleep instead of having a meltdown and then falling asleep.

Part 3: Changes
So for now myself and the kids are living in Vernal with my parents, Aaron is living in my sister's basement in Eagle Mountain and we are trying to sell our home and get things started to move out to the Wasatch Front. The kids are enjoying being at grandma and grandpa's house and James keeps telling me we need to take a really really really long time to find a new house because he wants to stay with Grandma and live by her so he can visit every day.
