Aaron Turns 30!

At the end of August Aaron hit the big 30! He wasn't too thrilled with the idea of it but we made sure to bring it in with a bang!

His birthday was on Friday so James made sure we put up lots of balloons and streamers for dad. He also thought that Levi would like to help decorate the house too.

I told him that I had invited some friends over for cake and ice cream Saturday night but Aaron didn't want to wait that long for presents.

He has been basically begging me to make him this blanket for at least a year if not longer and this year he told me that it was the only thing he was going to ask for his birthday so I gave in and made it. It is faux suede on top and minky on bottom with a gaming insignia from his all time favorite video game Mass Effect. He loved it and I love using it in the basement every night.

Our good friends the Anderson's just 'happened' to call and ask if they could come hang out for the weekend. They arrived late Friday night and hung out all Saturday. Sterling suggested hitting up a afternoon matinee at the movies to see Ant Man and I made them promise to be back by 7 for our 'cake and ice cream.'  What Aaron didn't realize is that although there would eventually be cake and ice cream he would have to clear a house full of Zombies before he could get it. As soon as he was out of the house Aaron's sister Gentry showed up and we started blacking out all the windows in the house with cardboard and tinfoil as well as lots of caution and danger tape. It looked pretty awesome in the end. We left nerf guns out front with some instructions and waited for the zombie guests to arrive as well as the guest of honor.

Once Aaron arrived we had a full on Zombie attack. It was filled with some good scares, lots of malfunctioning weapons (sorry babe) and a few nearly deadly zombie attacks (a laundry basket may have been near fatally wounded but no person or zombie was injured during the attack). In the end Aaron had an awesome time, we had a great time as well and it is certainly something we won't forget anytime soon.
All the Zombies and survivors that Aaron helped rescue. Thank everyone who came out.

After the house was cleared of zombie it was time for cake and ice cream. We had a great time visiting with friends and family. Aaron was super surprised and I am so glad to have such an awesome husband.
