Hogle Zoo

The Saturday after school got out we took the family to the zoo! We haven't been since Madie turned 1 (3 1/2 years ago) and James has  been begging to go since we left last time. Well we were able to get some tickets to get all the kids in free and decided we better just go. They loved it! I wasn't sure how Madie would do since she is pretty much terrified of animals, however she did great and loved it. I think them having a barrier between them made her feel much safer.

 James thought this water fountain was so awesome.... until Aaron came up and roared...

This was last time we were at the zoo so we decided we should do an updated picture. 

 Aaron loved the baby orangutan 

 We knew that we really wanted to catch the bird show because James LOVE eagles and birds and when he doesn't want to be a ninja when he grows up he wants to be a falconer. We got in line about 15 minutes before they opened the gates and decided it was a good time to get lunch out while we waited.

 I'm not sure who enjoyed the bird show more. James or Madie. I was surprised she didn't freak out while birds were swooping in and out over her head.

 We weren't planning on catching any of the other programs they had for the day but we happened to arrive just in time to watch the seal show and Titus got a great spot right by the windo as they did flips and tricks.

We had a great time at the zoo and some how managed to spend all day with 4 kids under 6 without either losing anyone and there were no meltdowns. Amazing I know. It may be another 3 years until our next visit but I am sure they will be looking forward to it.
