4th of July

We had so much fun on the 4th of July. The first half of the day was unfortunately spent digging a huge hole in our front yard to find a leak in the main line. But despite the start to the day the end was fantastic. Our neighbor hosted the 'cul-du-sac of fire' and invited the neighborhood over for a potluck, with snowcones, an outside movie, dancing, and of course fireworks. So here's our picture overload. We had a great time.
James asked me to make him some 4th of July clothes the night before out of some star fabric he saw in my sewing room. I comprimised and made all the boys some red, white, and blue bow ties.
Madie actually let me do her hair!
While waiting for the party to start we took some pictures and had some fun in the backyard.
Levi wouldn't stay in the picture with the other 3. He is to much of a busy body any more.
Potluck finally started and James went straight for the snow cones.
 They had Kung-Fu-Panda 3 playing.
Levi just being a cheese with Dad.
Bubble fun waiting for it to get dark.
After everyone ate the pumped up the music and danced out. Madie didn't miss a dance.
Can't forget about the sparklers. This is the first year James has been willing to hold one.
Titus went straight for them and loved it.
I was there too I promise!  It was a lot of fun and it is nice when all the activities are next door and you can put the baby to bed when he get's cranky and still enjoy the fun. Finally the fireworks started but none of the kids were a huge fan of them. Madie wanted to watch but if one was extra loud she would want to go home and go to bed but once we were inside she wanted to go watch the fireworks... Titus watched for about 15 minutes and then asked to go inside and go to bed. The poor kids when to sleep with his hands on his ears.
