We had a fun and busy end of August this year. We tried to get in as much fun as we could before school started. Some of them included having one last day at the park with our neighbors and then getting way to hot and coming back for otter pops for everyone and hiding in the little bit of shade in our front yard.
We also got a big box of apricots from my mom. James was so excited to teach Madie and Titus how to cut and pit them. He was so calm and patient to show them what to do. What I thought was going to be a chotic experience turned into a fun and wonderful family afternoon pitting and freezing apricots. There were plenty with a single bite out of them that I had to sort through but it was worth it for the time we had together.
James has been wanting to to a lemonade stand all summer. However it always seemed to be too windy or we had other plans etc. Finally on the 24th of July Aaron had a day off, we had no plans and it was a great day for lemonade. James put everything together and sat out selling lemonade to our sweet neighbors who all came over. It was a fun afternoon visiting and James was really excited to earn some more money for his power ranger suit he has been saving up for.
Also during August, Thanksgiving Point had $2 Tuesdays. James has been dying to go to the "Dinosaur museum" and I knew I couldn't pass it up. We kept trying to go before school starting but things kept popping up. The second day of school I picked up James and his friend Hunter from school and we went over. It worked out great since I hear it is usually super crazy on the discount day but I think since school started that week and it was in the late afternoon most people were busy doing other things. So it was nice a quite (Which is great when you are the only adult trying to keep track of 5 kids under 6)
It took all I could get out of him to get him to stand if front of the Shark for the picture.
Titus on the other had thought it was awesome
Madie spent half of the time excited about everything and the other half terrified and trying to crawl over the stroller to get to me. Levi was there too but in the front pack. He was pretty low key about it all. He neither seemed to like or hate it so we'll have to try again when he gets a little bigger.
The following week Madie started her last year of preschool! James going to school for a whole week before her was a hard week. She did fine all summer not asking about the bus but as soon as James went to school she knew she should be to and waiting that first week out was a long week. She was thrilled when she finally got to start back up as well.
I especially love how she posed her self for this picture. You could see her trying to cross her feet just right. I thought it was adorable.
Titus especially misses Madie when she goes to school. He has to make sure to give her a big hug before she heads out every day.

Finally to finish out August we had Aaron's birthday. We decided to spend the day up at Snowbird for Oktoberfest. Yes it is pretty much a beer fest which eliminates a good part of it for us however it was great to be up in the mountains, we tried out some German dishes and listed to some really fun polka bands. We also got to hang out with some really good friends so that made it extra fun.
We then came home and had an awesome meal of smoked salmon and then had cake and ice cream.
Happy birthday Aaron!
