So Valentine's Day has come and passed. Here's a few photos to let you all know how it went. Friday, Steven and Michelle came up to visit while on their own Valentine excursion. We got to go bowling with them just before my first jazz band gig of the semester and the first since five years ago.I'm in the back there playing my solo. I was really hoping to get some video of my solo, but because it was so short and Elizabeth wasn't ready, we missed it. But it went like this, Da Da Daaaa.... Daa Daa Daaaa... Da Da Daaaaa.... I know, awesome right?

Here's the fellow trumpet players killin' it on the latin song, Mambo swing. Great tune. I love playing latin music. It seems I have a better tone for latin than I do swing.

So at the end of the performance we played "Jump, Jive, and Wail." If you haven't heard of it I'll assume it is a person less than the age of 6 so I will excuse them. For everyone else you may know that the lead trumpet on this part goes very high. I had the pleasure of joining the lead trumpet on the high notes. I'm pretty sure those were the highest notes I've successfully played in my time playing trumpet. After three consecutive nights of this my jaw is ACHING! Really. Anyway. I got a video of the guest trumpet player who came and played. Dominic Spera is his name and he owns the trumpets. Literally and figuratively. He's played with Frank Sinatra, Henry Mancini, Burt Bacharach, and the Benny Goodman band, just to name a few. The guy was amazing.

SO wish we could have been there, looks like it was awesome-when will you have a public performance again?

I didn't even know Aaron could play the trumpet!
