Moving on

Well we are finally getting settled in. For those who aren't aware we are now official residents of Idaho! (Correction: Aaron is an official resident, he has an Idaho driver's license, I do not). We moved to Eagle, ID (Just outside Boise) on May 7th and have really enjoyed it thus far. The apartment is finally in living order and we are getting back into a routine. James is missing his little friends from Logan a lot but we are starting to find new ones. Aaron started work this week and although they have been fairly low key (reading, reading, and well more reading) he is headed out to do some drilling tomorrow and is looking forward to getting to some real engineering soon. Since I haven't blogged for a while here are some pictures of the past few weeks. They cover most of the highlights (we will also soon be posting a walk through of the apartment when I actually remember to do it before the kids are asleep.

Aaron

First of all the biggest news is Aaron got a new truck! His work reimburses him for the payments each month so he gets to pick the truck he wanted. It just had to be white and they will put their logo on it. Last Saturday he picked it up. It is a Dodge Ram 2500 Cummings. He loves it and so far so does James. He is always wanted to go and ride in 'Dad's big truck'.

James

James has done pretty well adjusting. He misses his friends but had done pretty well. The picture above is him leaving Logan with Aaron. He was really excited to ride in the moving truck with Dad. And changed 'Boise, Boise, Boise' on their way out.

James favorite part of our new apartment is the outside deck. He loves being able to be outside even if is isn't a yard. He is always out their reading books or lining up his animals and feeding them.
Aaron's work had a summer bbq last week that we got to go to. they had a big bounce slide that James and all the other kids LOVED. The only problem was it was a little too big for him so Aaron and I had to go with him and haul him up with us to the top of the slide. But it was a great excuse for us to get to play on it. We all had a really good time and the bbq ribs were to die for and for once Aaron didn't actually nearly die eating them.
I'm not sure if this should be in Aaron's section or James but Boise has a Cabella's about 20 minutes away from our house. On Tuesday we went and had a look around on Aaron's last day home before he started work on Wednesday. We were able to be their when they fed the Bass and James really liked it when they were putting the live bait in but then they put in some larger fish that were cut in half and he was very concerned about the 'broke fish falling.' I guess he didn't realize the poor goldfish were not coming back when they were eaten live.
We got Jame's a t-ball set after he started using the vacuum hose extensions as a t-ball stand in the house. It has been really nice to have. We just step outside to the yard and he can bat all day. (Really I'm pretty sure we spent about 6 hours yesterday playing t-ball, inside and outside the house from the moment he got up to the minute he went to bed).

His final favorite thing is the fact that EVERYONE in the complex has pets (except us). Every time we step outside he is petting some neighbors dog or cat. One of the members in our ward (The only one in the complex with kids) let James walk their dog the other day and he was in heaven. We are counting down to not only owning a house soon but a dog to come with it.

MADELINE
Madie has been her normal super happy self. She turned 8 months on Tuesday and I can't believe she is so big already. She is really starting to show her personality and get opinionated about what she wants. She can roll/pivot just about anywhere she wants now and is always getting into James toys, much to his dislike. He on the other had is getting pretty good about hiding the toys he doesn't want her to play with and giving her something else.

She is getting closer to sitting up and is pretty close but lacks the motivation. She loves being upright in her jumper and such but just doesn't like to sit on her own. She does like sitting in the bumbo for a short while especially if she gets to help out in the kitchen.

She loves book just as much as James. She has to have her own book whenever I read to James or else everyone is very unhappy. But as long as she can have her own she will sit on my lap for hours while I read to out loud to James. It is some good down time for mom too.

She is really getting into eating solids and always wants what James is eating especially crackers and goldfish even though I am trying to hold her off until she can't sit up on her own. This is what happened when Aaron and I left the table for a few minutes after dinner tonight. We came back to find James helping Madie eat because she hadn't finished her dinner yet. They actually made a pretty good team and she though James feeding her was really funny.
Overall she is doing great. She is healthy as can be a doing amazing. As usually she is our rock star and makes life pretty good around here. She is really getting into music lately and loves watching James and I dance around living room and will giggle spontaneously at us. The other day we were singing and the song ended and she started crying as soon as I started up again she was happy. Silly girl.

As for me, I am alive and well. I love having Aaron home and having him healthy and so far things are looking up. We get internet starting June so that will make things even better.

You know it's kind of weird that we are not in the same place as you guys for once. It seems like Zane and Aaron have been doing similar things for the past 4 years. Glad you guys are enjoying Eagle. It's a nice area out there
