Summer is Here!

I am so glad that summer is here! Now that we are finally settled in and figuring out where things are around here, we have started getting out and enjoying the nice weather and to say the least some water! One of the things I love about Boise is that most of the parks have splash pads so playing in the water is always an option. I am learning to always keep swim diapers and towels in the car at ALL times or James is very sad. We went to one of the splash pads with our neighbor this past week, James had a lot of fun and is should be a great summer activity.

"We want you, to come visit us!"
 Mmmm, Strawberries...
Just hanging out on the lawn after some water play
On Friday we went to my cousin's house and swan in their local community pool. James always loves the water but once he got a hold of one of the water guns he was really having fun. His other friend Cooper, also two got a hold of one two and to say the least the 2 year olds were terrorizing the pool. They quite enjoyed themselves. Usually James in not a fan of being splashed but once he got the water gun whenever he got splashed he would turn on the person and shoot them. He needed no prompting on how to battle.
Madeline was adored by all, of course, and fell asleep right at nap time being held in the pool, silly girl.

I couldn't help it he is just so cute!
I hardly saw Madeline at all the entire time, all the girls packed her around, asked to change her diaper, fed her, and basically begged to babysit her if we ever needed.
After we went back to the house had a BBQ and had some home made ice cream. (SIDE NOTE: I forgot the rock salt for the ice cream and Aaron ran to the store only to come back to the last hamburger and no buns, Sorry Babe! I promise I will do better at saving him food next time!)
Saturday was just as busy. While Aaron was having some tests run on the truck I took James to the park.  When we got there they were having a free fishing day for kids at the stocked pond at the park. They provided the poles and bait. To say the least James was thrilled, however I wasn't ready to try and teach James to fish with Madie strapped on to me. So we went and grabbed some lunch and when Aaron got back we all went fishing together. James enjoyed it but Aaron ended up doing most of the fishing and James mostly chased the birds by the pond. Next time we should show up before the fish have been fed beyond belief and we may have a better chance of catching one.

By the time we got home we were all pretty worn out. James fell asleep in the car and when we got home he didn't want to take a nap so I put on 101 Dalmatians and we were all asleep in no time.

WOW! What a fun summer you are already having. We live in our backyard pool. No trips or driving anywhere except when the food supplies gets low.
