Big Accomplishments

In that past week/month we have had some big accomplishments by the little residents of our household.
To start with James is potty trained!!!! Not say he is perfect by any means and I still don't trust him at night yet but on the average day life is great. I love having one less child to change diapers on and James is pretty proud of himself. If someone were to ask me what I did my response would be, "I waited." I had so many people keep telling me, just wait until he is ready, just wait. You know it worked! He basically woke up one morning said he had to go, then said he had to again, and again. I went and got some skittles and made him go pant less for a few days. Getting through nap time was a little crazy the first few days, we either had a good day using the potty and no nap, or a nap and accidents. But we survived. I am grateful we don't have any trips coming up soon because I am not sure that I am ready for that.

GO JAMES!!!

Next we have Miss Madeline. We have been really working on baby signing since Christmas when she got the entire DVD set of Baby Signing time as a present. We did some before but just didn't know as many sings to do. For FHE the week of Valentines' we had a lesson on love and how we can show love to our family. As part of the lesson Aaron worked really hard to get Madie to sign 'Dad' She didn't catch on right a way but by the end of the week...

I am so proud of both my kids. I am not sure Madie has completely understood the fact that what she is signing has a specific meaning but being able to mimic and incorporate the actions into daily life is a HUGE step forward. She will also do 'all done' and 'please' which looks very much like a little ape thumping her chest but when she wants something she is serious about it.

As for other big news around here. We are planning on building a home. We go in to the design center for our final appointment in a few weeks to pick the cabinets, flooring, lighting, all that fun stuff seal the deal, and then start building. I am so excited to have a home of our own and a back yard for my kids!!! We hope to be moving in by the end of June!

Everything sounds so exciting. It's so fun to watch kids have accomplishments. That's great about a house. It would be nice to build and be able to choose everything. Have fun with it.
