Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year especially since James is starting to get into holidays and such. We had a lot of fun coloring eggs.

Going to a Down Syndrome egg hunt. (We put James in the 'running' category thinking he might be too advanced for the 'walking' category but we were very wrong). He really had no idea what was going on and basically looked around dazed while Aaron tried to tell him to run but every time he headed for an egg it got snatched by a bigger kid. It was a little sad but fortunately he was a good sport and didn't seem to mind that he didn't come out with a huge gathering.

Our poor dazed and confused kid. Before he went to bed that night he kept telling me, "Mom, I'm going on an Easter Egg hunt tomorrow and I have to run, very, very fast and get all the eggs!" He'll do great next year. Fortunately he got some bubbles in one of his eggs and bubbles make everything better.

Playing at the park after the Easter egg hunt!

Madie is pretty close to mastering walking with only one hand for support!!!

Sunday morning we had a fun morning playing with bubbles and and balls from the Easter bunny and then went on our own Easter Egg hunt in which James found all the eggs without competition. Both the kids got new Sunday outfits and looked pretty cute. I had a lot of fun making Madie's and my dress with my new sewing machine that actually made sewing enjoyable.

On a side note in trying on explain to James the true meaning of Easter I think he got a little confused. When he got an Easter egg at the library from music time he started yelling excitedly 'Jesus makes eggs Mom!" "Jesus Christ makes eggs." Umm, well.... we are getting there. At least he knows that Easter is truly about our Savior Jesus Christ and that he LIVES! I love Easter and it's celebrations but I love even more the beauty of the gospel and the chance to worship my Savior.

That's great that you can make a dress for yourself. Mine never turn out the way I want them to. You have such cute kids
