4th of July Weekend

We had a great time celebrating the 4th of July. We decided to stick around our new home town for the morning and take part in some of the local events. We went to the Fireman's Breakfast in the morning and they put on a great meal. I've had a lot of them but they really served you up at this one, pancakes, sausage, ham, onions, and fried eggs. Mmmm, mmmmm.....

They had the local parade and James had a great time. And so did we

Yes a picture of Aaron and me together

James insisted on having a flag to wave for the parade and fortunately I found one just before it started
 Madie enjoyed hers as well

At the end of the parade was a huge water fight. They had all the fire hoses hooked up on main street and soaked everyone on the street. It felt great!

After the parade we went home and all crashed for a much needed afternoon nap. The morning had really worn the kids and us out. After a long nap we headed to my Aunt's house for a potluck and fireworks with family. They had a little kid pool set up in the back and a slip and slide and I couldn't keep either of the kids out of it for more the 2 minutes. Madie loved splashing in it and trying to eat the spray it was giving off.

Mmm... a water fountain just for me
As the evening went on Madie fell asleep well before the fireworks started and slept in side while we did the fireworks on the street. James was really excited for the fireworks until they actually started and then quickly remembered how much he disliked them. He spent the entire time with his ears plugged and hiding under the blanked occasionally peaking up to check them out. Maybe we will get a full head out of the blanket next year. We really enjoyed them and a neighbor down the street shot off huge fireworks for over an hour so we got both the family ones and the aerials all in the same place.

The next evening Aaron' mom came to visit for the weekend and check out the new house. We spend Saturday morning pulling weeds preparing to put grass in and after nap time headed downtown to Boise to show off the city. We went to the nature center where James had a great time looking for deer and fish.
 Looking at the turtle
Their were some HUGE fish in the pond (like 5 feet huge kind of fish)
Me getting to be in a picture for once. We told Madie to look at Dad so she signed it and looked and Dad. At least she followed instructions.
 Aaron and his mom.
We were so glad to have another visitor and this time we even had a real bed to sleep on. Thanks for coming and visiting.
