4th of July

We had kind of a crazy 4th of July this year. Aaron's nephew Taylor had a baseball tournament in Idaho Falls and since we don't have many opportunities to see Jared and Nichole we thought it would be fun to join them. We heard they had a pretty good parade and firework show and were excited to go see it. However we probably could have done a little better at planning.

We figured the parade would be later in the morning so we could just get up and drive Friday morning, well.... come to find out it was a 9 AM parade. So because we are crazy we left our house at 4 in the morning to make it to Idaho Falls by 9. Let's just say we didn't quite make it by 9 but it was only about 20 minutes into the parade when we showed up. But then we called our friends who live there and thought we would go sit with them. Come to find out we were parked at the end of the parade and they were at the beginning. (We didn't realize this till we had been walking so far we were almost there). The parade was really good though. It was almost 2 hours so even though we saw half the parade walking in the opposite direction we still ended up sitting and watching for a good portion of it.

James was so excited that they threw candy at the parade and had to show off his candy
After the parade we headed over to the baseball game. James was super excited his cousin Bridger was there as well. They spent the whole time playing with each other.
Everyone decided since we were watching baseball they needed to play it.

Even Madie and Titus got in on it.
Titus was quite the charmer and never lacked for attention
After the game we headed back to the hotel to try and let the kids get some naps. They all fell asleep in the car on the way over but woke up when we got there. I ended up getting heat exhaustion and spent the rest of the night at the hotel sick. Aaron took James to a minor league baseball game and stayed for the first 3 innings before coming back to the hotel bring back food for me and help me with Madie and Titus. Fortunately after getting some sleep and unfortunately missing the awesome firework display I woke up feeling much better and we were able to enjoy another day of baseball, lunch and Chuck-a-ramas and then vising with some college friends.

James got quite a bit of candy. Mckinley only got a handful or two, but then she may have been eating it while she watched.
