The way things are going around here I'm just going to have to make a monthly post. The month of June was full summer fun around here. We had a couple of family BBQ's here at the house, sprinkler running, Baseball games, and vacationing.
1st up Pony Express Days
Eagle Mountain had their annual Pony Express Days the first week in June. They had all sorts of events going all week although we didn't do all of them. James liked going to the Family Night where they served a pancake dinner and had free bounce houses, cotten candy, and popcorn for everyone. It was all of the kid's first time having cotten candy and they had the same opionion as most kids (more please!).
They also had a parade on Saturday and fireworks that night. We were lucky that Aaron didn't have to work that day so he could actually come with us.
That evening we had my sister and her family over for dinner and to watch the City fireworks from our house. Unfortunatly it rained all evening and was way to cold so we enjoyed dinner and turned in early. Bur it was still fun.
#2 Scottish Festival
The next weekend we went to the Scottish Festival. I went with my sisters Kimberly and Michelle. They dressed up and went all out while I was lame and didn't. They had a lot of fun events to watch but hard to do with little kids. We were there a few hours and I had a lot of fun but think the kids would enjoy it more with another year or two under their belts.
All the boys got wood swords while we were they. They had a great time playing together.
This is an example of one of the events we got to see while there. The opening ceremonies. It was so neat to see so many bagpipe players.
#3 More BBQ
The same afternoon as the Scottish Festival we had the chance to get a short visit from my brother Neal who was driving through on their way up to Seattle. We haven't seen them in 3 years due to them living in Florida going toschool. So even though it was just for the afternoon we were so glad to see them for a bit. The kids had a great time playing on the tramp and a slip and slide while the adults visited under the shade. We loved seeing them and hope it will happen again this summer before they move to Pennsylvania in August.
