Visit to Jensen/4th of July

We were lucky to be able to spend a week out in Vernal. We came in Friday night and Saturday I went to a 10 year high school reunion. We got the kids home for naps and then that afternoon headed up to Blue Mountain. Aaron helped Dad fix some screen doors and we enjoyed all the amazing wild flowers from the spring rains.

This is me at 35 1/2 weeks!
James always has such a serious expression when I pull the camera out. I guess he it trying to keep my from taking pictures of him but it isn't going to happen.
Had to grab one of Aaron he is about as bad as me getting his picture as James is. We enjoyed being up on the mountain where it was much cooler than down in the valley and even got a nice rain storm on our way out.
The rest of the week Aaron was back out at work and we spend most of our days catching up with friends and family or working on some sewing projects I had lined up that I wanted to get done before baby boy came. The kids really enjoyed being on the farm with Grandpa especially James. He was up nearly every morning at 5:30 to change water with grandpa. Half the time he had done more before the rest did all day by the time we were up at 7 and I didn't think we were sleeping in either.
They really enjoyed grandma's slip and slide as well.
Aaron had Friday off for the 4th of July and James has been dying all summer to go fishing and catch a fish. They did go fishing but didn't have much luck in the fish departement. I guess having a full moon the night before really messed up their chances. They left after breakfast to get some fishing in and I mom and waited until lunch time to meet them at East park and all eat lunch together. Although no fish were caught James still enjoyed the boat ride with Grandpa and eating lunch up on the mountain.

4th of July!!!!
For the past month James knew that we were going to be visiting Grandma and Grandpa Snow for the 4th of July. Every time he talked to them he would ask if we were all going to go the the parade together. So to say the least we were not missing the 4th of July Parade. It was also the Vera/Ross Snow Family Reunion and that morning all they were having a trap shoot contest. Although I am sure my Dad would have rather been shooting with his brother's and the rest at the reunion he came to the parade with James instead becauce James had been asking to go with them for the past month. Thank you Dad! Although I am not sure James will remember that Grandpa Snow came with him I will make sure he remembers how great his Grandpa is.

Titus and Madie had a pretty great time at the parade too. Madie loved having her older cousins to sit with and point at all the floats especially those who were dancing.
We had to take a picture to show James later on that Grandma and Grandpa came to the parade just for him.
Madie all dressed up for 4th of July! She loves that skirt and I can't hardly get her to wear anything else if she sees in her drawer.
After the parade we came home and spend the rest of the day doing reunion activites. We ate lunch and put the little ones down for a nap. Grandma stayed home with the sleeping kids while the rest of us went on an Amazing Race around Jensen and Vernal looking for clues about our family history. We would have to take a picture at each of the sights and send it in before we got the next clue. We had a lot of fun with our little team.
After the race we came home and preped for the big potluck that night. Madie loved having so many people to hang out with and decided to spend most of the evening hanging out with the teenagers. As you can see she made sure she was literally the center of attention.
Just getting the strut on with the teenage cousins.
Todd Thacker who lived down the road from Mom and Dad has an awesome wagon and horse that he brought over during dinner and took all the kids on rides around the Triangle. James was on the first fun around and Titus couldn't get enough of the horse.

James spend ost of the evening eyeing the raffle table and hanging out with his cousing Alexis. They have so much fun together although you couldn't tell by the glazed look on both their faces.
That night we headed up to Vernal for the firework show. Madie and Titus were sound asleep with Grandma and Grandpa when we left and I think James would have been happy to stay with them too once he realized how close all the fireworks were. It is the first time I have been back to Utah since they legalized the larger fireworks and it was really neat to see all the fireworks going off around you as well as the city display. James wasn't thrilled with all the noise but survived another year of fireworks. We were glad that we were able to spend so much time with family before baby boy #3 was born and spend the 4th close to family again.
