Well, it took one week of 12 to 14 hour days and a backup excavator to do the job but it is finally built.
The picture above shows the crimps in the wires. This is what we are ultimately testing is to see how they perform.
This is one of the 48 load cells that we custom fabricated from scratch. They took 2 1/2 months to make and are extremely precise and weather proof. They have a strain gauge that has small filaments of wires that are bi-directional. When the load cells are pulled on they stretch the small filaments and therefore changes the resistivity of the wires. We can calculate this change in resistivity to know how many pounds of force are being exerted in the wire mat reinforcement.
This is the wall at it's full 20 ft. height with me on top.

This is pretty much the finished product. There will be a fence on the top at the face of the wall to make sure no one uses it as a ski jump. Bummer.
