Eagle Days

Ever since we moved to Eagle everyone has been telling us that we have to attend 'Eagle Days'. I guess it is a pretty big event around here. Well they finally arrived. This weekend was the big event and I have to admit it was pretty fun. The weather put a bit of a kink in things and probably made it a little less awesome than usual but I can see the awesome potential it has. They have a carnival, rodeo, street shops, a community breakfast, a parade, live music going pretty much all the time, and games and family activities at the courthouse. We didn't attend everything but we still got a good chunk of it and it was the first time an outing wasn't a big deal because everything was within 4 blocks of our house so there was no driving no parking. We would go do something, come home let the kids take a nap, go back out. It was GREAT!

To make everything better we had our friends the Anderson's from Logan stay with us so they could attend a family reunion in Nampa. YEAH!

We started the weekend off at the carnival. We didn't do much because it was too expensive but we did to a few games for the fun of it.
Aaron had to show off his strength and he did pretty well and got a couple of blow up hammers that James has been attacking everything possible with all weekend.
We left the carnival to go get some ice cream. Because it has been so long since Aaron could eat ice cream it is the first time the James has been to an ice cream shop before. He loved it!
We enjoyed it too but James enjoyed it the most

Saturday we enjoyed an awesome breakfast and since it was cold and rainy we decided to build a blanket fort. It was a good break for the day and we all enjoyed it.
That afternoon they had their parade. The first half is normal and the second half is a water parade. They have huge trucks of water and just spray everyone as they go by. At the end the have firetrucks and the hose everyone down. Since it was so cold most of the people moved back and didn't get into the water. I hope it is nice and hot next year because I love the idea of a massive street water fight.
"Stick your hands up and give me all your candy"
One of the daring people willing to get wet.

We also walked around and saw all the street venders, ate a funnel cake, got covered in powdered sugar from the funnel cake via a huge wind burst, and overall had a lot of fun.
To finish the weekend out we decided to make so home made donuts. Well Aaron decided to make some donuts, these are all of his doing and they take waay better than they look.

I love the idea of a water parade! How fun! Those donuts look so yummy. I need to learn how to make homemade donuts.
