Father/Son Campout

Aaron and James went on their first Father Son outing this weekend. They announced it in church a few weeks ago and Aaron told me they were going. I will say I did question hes sanity a little in wanting to take a very hyper and exuberant 2 year old camping. They just went one night and the morning which was probably just about right. He drove up with our neighbor and his 2 year old son, one of James best friends here. It worked out well. Aaron had someone to visit with and James and Kaden were quite entertained on the drive mimicking each other back and forth so I hear.
The men heading out. Yes, Aaron took James mattress to sleep on but he said he slept great.
The boys waiting to head out. They don't look very excited but they really were.

I know you can't really see but those 2 little specks on the trail are James and Kaden. They decided to go hiking while Aaron put up the tent. It was quite the trail. Aaron decided to hike it the next day and I guess it was quite the haul.
Good old roasted hot dogs. Camping just isn't the same without them.  Overall it was a good trip. James was adored by everyone and didn't eat any real food because everyone else gave him about anything he asked for. When they got back from camping I opened the door to the truck and asked James how camping was. His first response was "I play with dirt mom, I liked it!"

While the boys were out camping I met up with my friend Jessie, (Mom of Kaden), for some girl time together. We ordered pizza and watched a movie Friday night while Riley (her other son, age 1) and Madie slept. Then Saturday we went out walking around Eagle. They have a Saturday Market and a lot really cute stores I've been wanting to check out but haven't gotten to yet, neither James nor Aaron like looking at antique and clothing stores just for the fun of. However Jessie and I had a lot of fun. We decided we should do it more often.

Oh and in case you didn't notice, Madie is sitting up! She is still a little wobbly and I don't trust her on her own for very long but still, it is exciting. One more milestone for the books. I can't believe how big she is getting slreay. I love it.
